Flamenco in Baton Rouge

June 15, 2013

I’ll be traveling to Baton Rouge, Louisiana next week for a one week residency to perform and teach. I’m excited at another opportunity to choreograph and meet new people. I seriously cannot wait and I feel extremely blessed.

I’ll be performing with Chris Burton Jácome at The Manship Theatre on Tuesday, March 5, 2013 at 7:30pm. Love the space there. I’ll also be teaching a flamenco dance workshop at The Dance Center and School for the Performing Arts and doing another flamenco dance and music outreach program at The Crestworth Academy. Lots of exciting projects ahead! I’ll be certain to enjoy my time in Baton Rouge!

Here’s a painting of me performing with Chris Burton Jácome at an outreach program we did at the Baton Rouge General Medical Center in mid November. The image is courtesy of The Manship Theatre. It feels really good to be of service to others. I’m glad our performance brought joy to those who didn’t have the opportunity to attend our concert.

I’m getting ready to fly out to Baton Rouge, Louisiana today to get my flamenco groove on! Tonight I teach a master dance class at Dance Center and School of Performing Arts.

Tomorrow I perform some outreach programs with Chris Burton Jácome at two schools and then an evening concert at The Manship Theatre! I’m really excited!

Sincerely,

Lena Jácome
