I love this photo!

Besides being a fantastic flamenco guitarist, Chris Burton Jácome happens to be a talented singer.  I just assume most people know this about him.  Also in the background is another great talent, Sal Gallegos, who sang the introduction to my piece.

The Chris Burton Jácome Flamenco Ensemble had the wonderful gift this year to be the season opener for the GCCCA’s concert season.  It was a magical evening performing at the Western New Mexico University’s Fine Arts Center on October 15, 2011.  Silver City is my hometown and it was wonderful to have so many family and friends attend the concert that evening. In addition, I released my coffee table book, Flamenco! at the concert.  A special evening indeed!

With all the excitement I actually forgot to take photos!  How can this be?  I find myself asking that question now. So here are the few images that were taken during the richly filled adventure to Silver City, New Mexico.

On our way to the venue. Organic Popcorn with Olive Oil.. yum.  Only at Trader Joe’s!

I was riding with my brother when I took a snapshot of the Fine Arts Center.

The Chris Burton Jácome Flamenco Ensemble began their October tour in Pampa, Texas, performing in the M.K. Brown Civic Auditorium.  Though it begins to cool off in Phoenix, Arizona, I found myself quite cold throughout our travels.  Here are some images of our time!

I get told quite frequently that I’m a lucky person and I agree 100%.  I am continually surrounded by amazingly gifted artists and amazing people!  It was such a pleasure working with these three incredibly talented flamencos:

Guitarist, Chris Burton Jacome, Cantaor, Jesus Montoya, Bailaor, Martin Gaxiola.

Thank you to Russ De Angelo and La Guitarra Festival California. The CBJ Flamenco Ensemble will be touring throughout New Mexico, Texas & California in October.  Make sure and visit my website for upcoming projects, workshops and performances.

Tonight is the final night of the 3-Day Flamenco Dance Workshop that I’ve been teaching at Oak Street Dance Studio in Ashland, Oregon.  We’ve been working on the Alegrías palo.  Below is a pic taken after the class.  Chris accompanied the class with his beautiful guitar playing & singing.
