There are so many inspiring things happening in my life. Tomorrow is yet another grand opportunity to take part in a new show entitled, ‘FlaMexico!’ A savory blend of flamenco music and dance blended with the sweet tones of Mariachi Music. It will be an unforgettable evening!

Flamenco in Baton Rouge

June 15, 2013

I’ll be traveling to Baton Rouge, Louisiana next week for a one week residency to perform and teach. I’m excited at another opportunity to choreograph and meet new people. I seriously cannot wait and I feel extremely blessed.

Casa Vicente May 2013

This image was taken by the talented Sylvia Hardt Photography and graphics by Mele Martinez. I’m really looking forward to this event. The staff at Casa Vicente are so kind and the food is exceptional. Flamenco del Peblo Viejo is the resident company at Casa Vicente. You can see them perform every Friday and Saturday Night. Make sure to visit their website for upcoming events and classes.  This is a perfect outing in celebration of Mother’s Day!

I’ll be performing with Chris Burton Jácome at The Manship Theatre on Tuesday, March 5, 2013 at 7:30pm. Love the space there. I’ll also be teaching a flamenco dance workshop at The Dance Center and School for the Performing Arts and doing another flamenco dance and music outreach program at The Crestworth Academy. Lots of exciting projects ahead! I’ll be certain to enjoy my time in Baton Rouge!

Artwork – Rassouli

March 1, 2013

Tonight and every Friday in March I’ll be performing at Province Restaurant in downtown Phoenix with Chris. The shows are from 7:00pm – 9:00pm. I feel very lucky to have the career I have with blessings of opportunities. I love what I do for a living and when I saw this painting by Rassouli, I thought, “Wow! This is how I feel!”

It’s a beautiful image.

I’m originally from a small mining town in New Mexico called Silver City. I’ve been teaching over the past 3 days at a local dance studio and have set some work on the students at the Conservatory of Dance. They’ll be performing tonight in the flamenco concert held at the Silco Theater. I’ll be performing with my husband, Chris. It’s been nice to have some time to get more involved with the community during this visit. I’m looking forward to the concert tonight!

It never dawned on me that I didn’t share these images. I participated in the Fiesta Fin de Verano in San Diego, CA and had the opportunity to meet and work with many wonderful flamenco artists. Below are some images of my time there.
