Recovery Mode

December 5, 2012

Every day, do something that is truly important in moving you toward your goals. You must choose to invest your time in the important steps. When you take charge of your time, you take charge of your life. How you spend your time reflects your priorities.

~~Stedman Graham

I recently came across a very inspiring article on Sean Stephenson in the November Issue of Success Magazine. Part of the article discussed ‘Go Time’ and ‘Recovery Time.’ This really spoke to me because I realize more and more how important it is to take care of myself off stage. And in all honesty, as busy and as physically, emotionally and mentally taxing touring can be, there’s a lot of work that goes on in the preparation of touring. Here’s a brief excerpt from the article written by Roger Brooks:

Recovery Mode is exercise to repair and rebuild my body to get it ready for the next trip….No one every sees Recovery Mode. They just see Go Mode, and they’re impressed because they think it happens naturally. But it doesn’t.

It was an inspiring read and I feel comfort in knowing that others put a lot of work on their Recovery Mode. Learning about Sean Stephenson has inspired me to work more diligently on my Recovery Mode, so that, I too, can do more and be more in life.

Sincerely,

Lena Jácome
