Marielena Jácome attained her B.F.A. Degree in Dance Performance at New World School of the Arts in Miami, FL and her M.F.A. Degree in Choreography and Performance at Arizona State University. She has been a dancer for Calo Flamenco under the direction of Martín Gaxiola since June of 2003 and she is currently a Roster Artist through the Arizona Commission on the Arts. She has toured throughout the U.S. with Calo Flamenco and the Chris Burton Jácome Flamenco Ensemble.

Lena has traveled to Spain to study under La Faraona and La Gallardí and trains regularly with the Calo Flamenco ensemble and Lourdes Rodriguez.“…an expression of passion, a fiery explosion of sound…and of dancing so exciting…” –BISBEE DAILY REVIEW
