Lena Jácome attained her B.F.A. Degree in Dance Performance at New World School of the Arts in Miami, Florida and attained a Master of Fine Arts Degree in Choreography and Performance at Arizona State University. She has traveled to Spain to study under La Faraona and La Gallardí. Her dance training in the states has been influenced by Martín & Bernadette Gaxiola, Angelina Ramirez and Lourdes Rodriguez.
Lena has been a dancer for Calo Flamenco under the direction of Martín Gaxiola for the past four and a half years and also performs frequently with her husband, flamenco guitarist Chris Burton Jácome.
